About the Urban Transitions Mission
The Urban Transitions Mission (UTM) was launched at the COP26 in November 2021 with the aim to increase the capacity of cities worldwide, empowering them to shape urban transitions based on robust knowledge and a strong net-zero community of support and exchange. It aims at demonstrating that systemic urban strategies along with climate resilience and social aspects of the transition can boost reliable, affordable, feasible and cost-effective solutions for reaching net-zero cities
Join the Cohort!
A first cohort of 50 cities is already engaging with UTM, and the Mission is now looking for 250 pioneering cities to join by 2024. A robust methodology in the selection process will ensure the readiness and commitment of cities to engage as frontrunners in innovation to support and accelerate the Mission’s goals.
Application Deadline
Cities are invited to apply online and express their interest to join the Mission’s cohort by 21st August through a brief questionnaire reflecting the assessment criteria, which can be found here, as well as on the Global Covenant of Mayors, MI Urban Transitions Mission and partner websites.
