Unlocking climate solutions at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023

The Smart City Expo World Congress is the world’s biggest and most influential event for cities and urban innovation. It will show the world the smart solutions shaping this new era- those currently helping cities thrive and creating safer, greener, and more efficient urban spaces. 

Join us on 8th November for 2 sessions. 

1. "Matching needs with solutions: cities, businesses and investors together to accelerate climate action" 

Time: 10:00 - 12:00

In the context of Smart City Expo World Congress 2023 and as part of a collaboration between the Covenant of Mayors - Europe, the Smart Cities Marketplace, the ENTRANCE project, the CIVITAS Initiative, the Covenant of Companies for Climate and Energy and the European City Facility, this workshop will showcase inspiring examples of how the potential of a cooperation between cities, SMEs and investors can advance local efforts in climate action.

2.  "Creating Irresistible Climate-Neutral Cities"

Time: 16:30 - 17:30

In transition times, cities have a strategic advantage for improving quality of life and exploring new work approaches. Despite facing barriers, cities lead in climate action. This session focuses on overcoming obstacles and showcasing sustainable urban solutions, from engaging citizens to setting up new financing schemes. It discusses inclusive, cross-cutting approaches beyond technical enhancements, making climate neutrality irresistible for all stakeholders, unlocking benefits and ensuring accessibility.

The distribution will follow a first come-first served basis considering the below: 

• A maximum of 2 representatives will be considered per each EU signatory, Covenant supporter and Covenant Coordinator. In case more applications are submitted from the same entity, only the first two will be considered. 
• First applicants will be contacted to gather additional details. If no answer is received from them within 48h from being contacted, the Covenant will contact the following applicant in the list according to their order of submission.

We remind that the Covenant of Mayor Europe provides free passes only. Any other expence related to the participation to the even, including travel and accomodation, will be on participans' own  charge.
