Majority of citizens in villages are already using biomass for heating. The target of this promotion campaign will be efficient methodes of using biomass for heating. Promotion campaign for use of biomass for heating among citizens with the following methods: - banners and fliers with information about renewable energy sources, - seminars, trainings, school lessons - for raise of awareness among population, - small grants and subsidies from the State - other As sourse of biomass could be used local biomass produced from reed plant, once the production line for it would be constructed.

Installation of 6 biomass boilers for local institutions total 650 kW instead of old boilers on coal and natural gas.

Valeni is located near the second-largest river in Moldova, the Prut. Around the river, there are many wetlands where the reed plant grows in large quantities. The project's idea is to construct a reed processing line that will produce briquettes and pellets from it. The project can be implemented exclusively by the local authority or in partnership with local business agents. Such an ambitious project will require support in the form of grants or subsidies.

Creation of waste management system with waste sorting (with 50% efficiency). Will be as well included: Information and awareness campaigns, training sessions, organization of Local Days on Waste Management, selective collection, recycling

Planting of 150 ha of new forests and forest strips on degraded lands, around agricultural lands. Ministry of Environment, NGOs, citizens, interested business companies can be involed in plantation

Promoting campaigns for thermal insulation of houses among citizens (small grants, demonstration projects, awareness raising trainings) Can be performed in partnership with Agency for Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Energy, NGOs etc. Can include such activities: - Banners with information thermal insulation measures and benefits - Seminars and training sessions with participation of experts from the Agency for Energy Efficiency, NGOs, financial institutions (EU4Business, commercial banks) to rise awareness about financial possibilities - Other activities
