Eligibility

EU Covenant of Mayors Coordinators are national, regional and sub-regional public authorities that officially commit to providing strategic guidance and support to Covenant signatories within their geographical scope.

There are two types of Coordinators for different public authorities:

  • The Covenant National Coordinator role: reserved to national ministries and national energy agencies only.
  • The Covenant Territorial Coordinator role: reserved to regions, provinces and counties only. This includes:
    • Portuguese Comunidades Intermunicipais and Areas Metropolitanas, being established by law as administrative regions.
    • Italian Metropolitan Cities, being established by law and substituting, de facto, the old province structure.

Should you require further clarifications, please contact the Covenant Coordinators Helpdesk at coordinators@eumayors.eu.
