A strategic element in the redevelopment of the train station and Houmeau districts, the Alpha Media Library opened to the public in 2015. With energy efficiency in mind, geothermal energy via borehole probes was chosen to heat and cool the building year-round. The ability to ensure optimal summer comfort at a lower cost through a passive geocooling system was a key factor in this decision.
