Convention des Maires - Europe

In the frame of the LIFE BIO-BALANCE project, Habitat for Humanity supported selected low-income communities in Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania to find ways to reduce firewood use. Based on local needs, different interventions were implemented as pilot projects in the three countries.

On 8 October 2024, the EU Mission Label was awarded to 20 cities that are part of the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, one of the EU Missions under Horizon Europe, the EU’s research and innovation programme.

This year’s Covenant Award rewards cities' excellence in projects decarbonising heating and cooling, promoting cleaner air, a stronger economy, and more resilient communities.
