Construction of a solar photovoltaic power plant to increase local renewable energy production and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Installation of PV systems for municipal buildings and infrastructure (administrative buildings, kindergartens, and water-related facilities) to reduce electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The action aims to improve the energy performance of residential buildings through thermal insulation, efficient heating systems, and energy-saving measures. It targets households with low income and high energy costs, reducing energy consumption and improving living conditions.

The action aims to strengthen the resilience of the agricultural sector and water resources against droughts, heatwaves, hail, frost, erosion, wildfires and other climate-related hazards. It includes rehabilitation of irrigation infrastructure, construction of rainwater harvesting basins, installation of efficient irrigation and anti-hail systems, promotion of climate-smart agricultural practices, introduction of drought-resistant crop varieties, agricultural insurance, smart livestock and greenhouse technologies, establishment of protective shelterbelts and firebreaks, restoration of perennial plantations, and development of a community early warning application.

The action aims to gradually replace conventional gasoline- and diesel-powered municipal passenger cars and service vehicles with electric vehicles. The transition will reduce fossil fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and operating costs while improving the environmental performance of the municipal fleet. The measure contributes to sustainable mobility and demonstrates municipal leadership in the transition to low-carbon transport.

The action involves the installation of photovoltaic systems to power public street lighting in three settlements of the Akunk Community. The measure will replace grid electricity with locally generated renewable energy, reducing municipal electricity consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and operating costs while improving the sustainability and reliability of the public lighting system. Annual renewable electricity generation is estimated at 92.28 MWh, resulting in an annual reduction of 22.24 tCO₂.

This integrated adaptation measure aims to enhance ecosystem resilience and reduce climate risks through nature-based solutions. The program includes expansion of green infrastructure, establishment of protective shelterbelts, restoration of fire-affected and erosion-prone land, creation of ecological buffer zones, restoration of perennial plantations, establishment of firebreak zones, improved pasture management, and development of ecotourism linked to ecosystem restoration. These actions strengthen biodiversity, improve soil stability, reduce wildfire and erosion risks, increase groundwater recharge, and enhance the long-term resilience of the community to drought and heat-related hazards.

This integrated adaptation measure aims to strengthen the climate resilience of Akunk's critical infrastructure and essential public services by modernising energy and ICT infrastructure, improving the resilience of municipal buildings and water supply systems, upgrading transport infrastructure, and enhancing healthcare preparedness. The programme includes protection of substations and electricity networks, installation of fire-resistant ICT infrastructure, retrofitting vulnerable buildings, improving emergency water supply, rehabilitating flood-prone roads, and establishing cooling centres and telemedicine services to reduce the impacts of heatwaves.
