You're about to register for the upcoming Scalable Cities Peer-to-Peer event in Getafe, Spain, taking place on June 25–26, 2025.
This P2P will explore how community-led energy initiatives can support the right to energy, drive the energy transition, and be scaled up across cities. We’ll look at practical examples of inclusive financing, citizen-led governance, and tools to strengthen community participation.
A special focus will be placed on how energy communities can engage in local flexibility markets and play an active role in decentralised energy systems, opening new opportunities for cost savings and local resilience.
Getafe, through its Community Technical Office, has become a reference point in Spain for supporting energy communities and citizen empowerment.
The event will gather nine cities from across Europe with active or planned initiatives involving:
- Public-community partnerships
- Energy cooperatives
- Shared energy purchasing
- Innovation funds led by citizens
- Innovative contractual schemes (e.g., PPA, EPC, peer-to-peer trading, etc.)
- Climate justice approaches in project design and implementation
- Local flexibility services
- Participatory governance and citizen-led innovation
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn from real-world case studies, and interact with technical and financial experts throughout the sessions..
A travel and accommodation budget of up to €900 per city is available to support participation.
