This webinar is part of the EU Covenant of Mayors’ Homegrown Energy engagement action, which encourages municipalities and citizens to see energy as something tangible, something they can produce, manage, and benefit from, strengthening local resilience. The webinar series showcases inspiring examples and practical approaches to locally driven clean energy.

The second webinar in the series is organised in collaboration with the Citizens Energy Advisory Hub (CEAH) and focuses on how local authorities can effectively engage citizens and support citizen-led energy initiatives. Citizen panels and assemblies are structured ways to bring local communities together to discuss priorities and recommendations and to learn together. They are an effective way to involve citizens in decision-making on energy issues, demonstrate climate leadership, and build trust. The webinar will provide concrete examples of this participatory approach and explore how strong collaboration between municipalities and citizens can accelerate the development of inclusive, locally owned energy solutions.
