6 May 14:00 | Connecting the dots: data, reporting and policy

In this participatory workshop, we engage city practitioners in a reflection about data collection and management, monitoring and reporting and its use for evidence-based policy-making. We explore the real impact of reporting from a city perspective and discuss cities’ reporting requirements along with current challenges of collecting data at city level. We identify where limitations lie, emerging trends, and what is needed beyond the numbers to drive transformative change for a sustainable future. Participants will be divided into discussion groups.

7 May 11:00 | National support for climate neutral and resilient cities: strengthening multilevel governance across European countries

Achieving climate neutrality and resilience at the city level is challenging without strong national support and enabling frameworks. Recognising this, the Covenant of Mayors Europe and the EU Mission on Climate Neutral and Smart Cities have joined forces to engage national governments and stakeholders across Europe in a collective effort alongside cities. This session aims to convene representatives from local, regional, and national governments, alongside other key stakeholders, to collaboratively reflect on multilevel governance of climate and energy policies across Europe.
