The webinar takes place at a timely moment, where summer temperatures are slowly getting down again and colder days are coming, while souvenirs of heat waves and cooling needs remain close to people’s mind. Local and regional governments are the first in line, when it comes to addressing cooling and heating needs, providing people with shelter and managing resources to provide decent living conditions for all.
The European Electrification Action Plan, emphasising the need for renewable heating and cooling, recognises direct thermal use as a significant enabler for electrification and hence decarbonisation. Thus, the EU Covenant of Mayors is organising a webinar bringing local stakeholders together with the European Commission to exchange on policy insights, best-practices and needs. Following inspiring presentations, speakers and the audience will have the opportunity to engage in a lively discussion.
The webinar will bring together local and regional stakeholders, with representatives of the European Commission, to discuss the local needs and allow time for exchange.
