Citizen Engagement
Action Plans
Citizen engagement is key to subnational climate action as it allows to tailor local/regional climate policies to the communities’ needs and it empowers citizens to monitor the implementation of climate action plans and projects, as well as taking an active part in them.
Co-organised with the European Climate Pact, the Committee of the Regions and the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, this online webinar will inspire cities and regions to strengthen their engagement with citizens and the various members of their communities and work together on climate action.
The webinar will aim at:
- Raising awareness on the benefits and added value of community/citizen engagement in subnational climate action
- Showcasing existing good practices of community/citizen engagement, as well as their added value, to be presented by European cities and regions
- Presenting relevant resources and activities on citizen engagement in climate action and encouraging cities and regions to use them and connect with their communities.
